Their patio is also one of the best places to people watch around Michigan State, so take a seat on a crisp Fall Friday with one of their Long Island iced teas (limit 2 - they're strong, but delicious) and watch the world walk by. The Barrel, as it's called by locals, specializes in burgers. Debate often rages over who has the better burger: Crunchy's or the next place on this list. This laid back restaurant has old MSU posters on the walls, 20+ craft beers on tap, and Karaoke nights Thursday and Fridays. Home of the Crunchy burger, truly an East Lansing institution. On Tap: 26 beers + hard ciders and spirits Sanctuary is located by Pancho’s Taqueria Food Truck – need we say more? Tacos + kids = family win. Kid Points: Live music, special events (some even geared towards kids), lots of seating. Located in the heart of downtown Lansing, this extremely family-friendly brewery uses local food and vendors for their delicious menu. #9 MidTown Brewing Company Address: 402 S Washington Square, Lansing, MI 48933 Kid Points: Patio, casual food pick up, a walking location – Old Town. The patio is lovely and a pizza food truck is available at coinciding hours. Ozone Brewhouse’ patio is a great family-friendly place during the summer.
